Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has provided Financial Support for Tourism and Creative Economy Business Development (DPUP) and held a financial literacy program for four tourism villages in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“The handing over of assistance for four tourism villages in West Nusa Tenggara is the government’s support to make tourism villages more resilient in the future,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said.

The four tourism villages are Taman Loang Baloq in Mataram City, Sesaot in West Lombok, Bonjeruk in Central Lombok, and the Senaru Tourism Village in North Lombok.

The DPUP handing-over and financial literacy program was held at the Taman Loang Baloq Tourism Village on Saturday (October 14).

Uno said the program was the continuation of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) of 2021 and 2022.

Each village got around Rp120 million (around US$7,600) to be utilized for the improvement of human resources, creative economy products, and tourism destinations so that tourists’ visit could be more of quality and sustainable, he said.

Meanwhile,  the ministry’s Director of Access to Financing Anggara Hayun Anujuprana said the financial literacy class is expected to teach tourism and creative economy business actors about the management of financial statements.

With increased skills in financial literacy, business actors can plan and develop their businesses more neatly, especially when trying to get business capital from financial institutions, both banking and non-banking.

“In addition to the DPUP assistance, the ministry also provides capacity building in financial literacy for tourism villages’ business actors,” he said.

The ministry collaborated with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to train the tourism villages’ human resources about the awareness of illegal online loans, carefulness in investing, and introducing financial service products.
