The Brooklyn Park Metropolis Council authorized plans to separate with Minneapolis Northwest Tourism on Monday, Nov. 27.
Minneapolis Northwest Tourism was based in 1986. Maple Grove, Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Middle have been all members of the group till Maple Grove left in 2021.
Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Middle initially thought of leaving the group. Nonetheless, in Dec. 2022, they determined to restructure the group to raised go well with their wants.
That restructuring included a rewriting of the bylaws, rebranding and a brand new job description for an incoming CEO.
Now, Brooklyn Park is reconsidering its determination to stay with the bureau.
Brooklyn Park Says Bureau Ignored Suggestions
Brooklyn Park metropolis workers and Mayor Hollies Winston have accused the group of ignoring their suggestions.
