New Delhi: A rape accused, who was introduced from Bahrain to India, gave the Delhi police a slip on the Indira Gandhi Worldwide airport, prompting a blame sport between CISF and the police.
The accused, recognized as Amandeep Singh, was delivered to Delhi from the Gulf nation on December 20 at 4.55 am.
The police mentioned Singh was stopped on the immigration division as a lookout round (LOC) was issued towards him and handed over to the Central Industrial Safety Drive (CISF) personnel deployed on the airport. He had been on the run since April 2020.
“The CISF personnel have been on the best way to handing him over to the Delhi Police when he fled from their custody by leaping from counter quantity 33 within the arrival part of the immigration division at about 10 am,” an officer instructed PTI.
As one of many officers escorting Singh went to the washroom, the accused escaped. Per the FIR, CISF employees was on responsibility.
“Singh was within the custody of CISF employees on responsibility. Now it has been learnt that he escaped from custody at 1000 hours whereas a CISF guard went to the washroom round 0957 hours. Singh exited the arrival immigration space illegally by leaping the counter quantity 33 gate (Indian Aspect). Thus Singh cheated Indian Immigration by illegally escaping from the arrival Immigration space. Due to this fact, a case could also be registered towards him underneath related sections of legislation,” FIR said.
Per the company, CCTV footage reveals Singh strolling from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2.
The CISF, nevertheless, countered the Delhi police and denied any lapse on its half.
“It’s pertinent to say that no entry particulars have been made concerning the LOC pax (Singh) by Immigration officers within the register at arrival,” CISF chief spokesperson Shrikant Kishore mentioned, including the accused was not within the power’s custody.
Efforts are on to find the lacking accused.
