The Ghana Airports Firm Restricted (GACL) has suspended the proposed $20 round-trip passenger charge following parliamentary scrutiny.
Parliament, on Wednesday, March thirteenth summoned the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, to handle issues relating to the charge’s legality.
This motion stemmed from objections raised by the Minority Caucus, who argued that the GACL lacked the authority to impose such a cost with out correct justification and parliamentary approval.
Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South, particularly questioned the Minister’s involvement, alleging potential collusion between him and the GACL.
