Europe Hotels Travel

What  can I tell you that you don’t already know?! Yes it’s the capital city, yes it’s home too iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Gothic Botre Dame cathedral and  it’s known for it’s romance but do you know why? That’ll I’ll go over in a future blog.

I share the sentiments of Audrey Heoburn “Paris is always a good idea.”

Paris is often referred to as “The City of Light” and the French have always said ‘Quand Paris éternue, la France s’en rhume’ (When Paris sneezes, France catches cold)

Personally I find Paris timeless although if you scratch the history surface it literally isn’t. The romance of the Seine, the delightful terraced cafes of Mintparnasse and the cobbled backstreets of Montmarte are enchanting experiences.

Every time I return there’s a change – craft beer is on the rise as in the rest of Europe and the takeaway gourmet food options here are ooh la la!

Once you’ve nailed the classics I’d recommend the “Les Catacombers” and the “Fromeagerie Alleosse” two very different experiences! One fascinating but macabre and other a huge draw if, like me, you’re a fan of cheese!

Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg

I’m always a fan of the Soffitel hotels and this one is no exception.

Situated in an amazing location between Concorde and Fauboroyg St-Honoere this chic hotel is within walking distance of the shops or tourist attractions- I walked to the Seine and Louvre Alexander bridge amongst others.

Staff here, like with most Sofitel experiences, are courteous and friendly at all times.

My spacious junior suite, which seemed huge for Paris, overlooked the courtyard. Stylish and inviting this was the perfect way to further embrace Parisian life!

Even in the food mecca that is Paris I’d highly recommend the vibrant Blossom restaurant within the hotel and checking out it’s cool selection of cocktails at the panelled Nar. Delicious.
