Duck and Waffle
Duck-and-waffle, a London restaurant with a view
2 mins walk from Liverpool St underground lies the private Bishopsgate Entrance to this luxury London restaurant where you’re fired up 40 floors in 40 seconds, vertigo inducing for some, fun for me!
Greeted on arrival in a warm manner within a stylish bar area with astonishing views on both sides, ensure you have your phones at the ready – note no camera equipment is permittable.
Escorted to my rather privileged window seat (big thanks to the superb reservations team) in a vibrant area featuring a bustling open kitchen I had the attention of the various staff whilst I waited for my colleagues.
One explained the menu concept – dishes are designed for sampling and sharing and another guided me through the extensive drinks menu.
I opted for the nocellara del belice & kalamata olives and crispy polenta whilst enjoying the views across the City.
My starter was roasted beets, an eloquent dish consisting of harissa, organic yoghurt, toasted seeds and lemon – light and sumptuous, perfect.
I followed with the Burrata & Marjoram ravioli, celeriac, hazelnut & watercress, delicious.
My colleague went for the signature Duck & waffle, crispy leg confit, fried duck egg, mustard and maple syrup. Glancing around this seemed the favourite of the day.
A respectable bill for such a London restaurant, a cheery farewell and then back to the lift with a terrified colleague!
40 floors above the City with great views, food, drink and service the Duck & Waffle comes highly recommended.
I’ll be back soon for a sunset shoot and a coconut cocktail The Duck & Waffle is open 24 hours a day, hopefully you’re tempted?
