Mystery is intriguing don’t you think? I’m a trained journalist and marketer with four different Instagram accounts with a combined audience of over 500,000 followers. I spent my youth backpacking around the World. Whilst I had, quite frankly, the time of my life the ideologies of a hedonistic youth and that of an affluent, older gentleman are vastly different. Consequently, in the manic 24/7 World in which we currently operate time, the great commodity of the 20th century, is increasingly short. I therefore am continually driven to seek more luxurious surroundings, specifically those boutique or luxury.

Instagram rolls out new hashtag concept – profile links in bio

By on March 22, 2018

Now some of you may have opened your Instagram in the last few days and seen the latest new feature to be rolled out by the social media juggernaut – you can now add hashtags to your bio.

So simply put an # or @ in your bio and they’ll become live clickable links that lead to a hashtag page or another profile.

How do you add a hashtag in your Instagram bio? Simply go to edit profile and head towards the bio section. Type a # or @ and you can then select the hashtag and account you want.

Instagram believe this, combined with the ability to follow hashtags – do any of you do that? – will help their empire stay connected with what interests them.

After Instagram rolled out the following hashtags function I adapted and followed a few but, in all honesty, it’s proved pointless and a function of little, if any interest to me.

So, will this be of any more interest? Well I’ve added one in so let’s see! You attention seeking brand collaborators can also mention someone else in your profile! On doing so they’ll receive a notification and can choose to remove the link.

The hashtag is an interesting discussion point as it moves away from his initial function and more towards becoming a tool for connecting people

What could possibly be next?!
