As you’ll know by now Greece is one of my favorite destinations, Having spent another month there earlier this summer lets round up some of the new hotels that have opened this year.
Why Greece?
Greece is a popular destination for travelers who want to enjoy the sun, sea, and culture of this ancient and beautiful country. Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa
Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa is a new boutique hotel that will open in May 2023 on the island of Lefkada, one of the most scenic and unspoiled islands in the Ionian Sea⁶. The hotel will consist of 12 villas, each with a private pool, a jacuzzi, and a terrace overlooking the turquoise waters. The hotel will also have a spa, a fitness center, and a restaurant that will serve local and organic dishes. Guests will be able to explore the island’s natural beauty, from its white sandy beaches to its lush green mountains⁶.
Domes Noruz Kassandra
Domes Noruz Kassandra is the latest addition to the Domes Resorts portfolio, which already includes several award-winning properties in Crete and Corfu⁶. The hotel will open in June 2023 on the Kassandra peninsula of Halkidiki, a region known for its golden beaches and pine forests. The hotel will have 136 rooms and suites, all with private pools or jacuzzis, and some with direct beach access. The hotel will also feature a spa, a gym, and two restaurants that will offer Greek and international cuisine. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s exclusive beach club, as well as the activities and entertainment that the Domes Resorts brand is famous for⁶.
Ikos Odisia
Ikos Odisia is the fifth property of the Ikos Resorts group, which has been ranked as one of the best all-inclusive resorts in the world by TripAdvisor⁶. The hotel will open in July 2023 on the island of Corfu, in the picturesque bay of Agios Ioannis Peristeron. The hotel will have 411 rooms and suites, all with balconies or terraces overlooking the sea or the gardens. The hotel will also have a spa, a fitness center, and four swimming pools. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s signature Infinite Lifestyle concept, which includes unlimited access to seven restaurants that serve dishes from Michelin-starred chefs, 24-hour room service, premium drinks, and entertainment⁶.
Isla Brown Chania
Isla Brown Chania is the first European property of the Brown Hotels group, which is known for its stylish and urban hotels in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem⁶. The hotel will open in September 2023 on the island of Crete, in the historic city of Chania. The hotel will be housed in a renovated Venetian building that dates back to the 16th century. The hotel will have 40 rooms and suites, all with modern amenities and design elements that reflect the local culture. The hotel will also have a rooftop pool and bar that will offer panoramic views of the city and the sea. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s restaurant that will serve Mediterranean cuisine with an Israeli twist⁶.
One&Only Aesthesis
One&Only Aesthesis is one of the most anticipated new hotels in Greece in 2023. It is part of the One&Only Resorts group, which is renowned for its ultra-luxury properties around the world⁶. The hotel will open in October 2023 on the Athenian Riviera, just 30 minutes from the city center. The hotel will have 125 villas and suites, all with private pools and gardens, and some with direct beach access. The hotel will also have a spa, a fitness center, and a kids club. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s dining options, which include a restaurant by chef Giorgio Locatelli, a beach club by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and a wine cellar by sommelier Evangelos Pattas⁶.
One&Only Kéa Island
One&Only Kéa Island is another new hotel that will join the One&Only Resorts group in 2023. It will be the first One&Only property in Europe to offer private residences for sale, as well as hotel rooms and suites⁶. The hotel will open in November 2023 on the island of Kea, one of the Cyclades islands that is known for its natural beauty and tranquility. The hotel will have 75 villas and suites, all with private pools and terraces overlooking the Aegean Sea. The hotel will also have a spa, a fitness center, and a kids club. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s dining options, which include a restaurant by chef Costas Spiliadis, a beach club by chef Tom Aikens, and a bakery by chef Christophe Michalak⁶.
