WASHINGTON, D.C. — Practically $14 million is being dispersed amongst 4 West Virginia airports with funding from the FAA’s Airport Enchancment Program (AIP).

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, introduced earlier this week that $13,913,818 from the U.S. Division of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) can be handed out for enhancements to be made at 4 West Virginia airports: Greenbrier Valley Airport, Morgantown Municipal Airport, Tri-State Airport, and North Central West Virginia Airport.

“I’m happy DOT is investing greater than $13.9 million to enhance service, security and effectivity at 4 of our airports throughout West Virginia,” mentioned Senator Manchin. “West Virginia’s airports are our gateways to the remainder of the world, and the funding introduced at this time will increase native tourism and spur financial improvement all through our nice state.

The next quantities of cash given to every airport are listed beneath:

  • $8,145,000 to Greenbrier Valley Airport to rehabilitate the runway
  • $3,765,647 to Morgantown Municipal Airport (Walter L. Invoice Hart Area) to increase the runway
  • $1,346,076 to Tri-State Airport (Milton J. Ferguson Area) to replace the airport grasp plan
  • $657,095 to North Central West Virginia Airport to assemble a terminal constructing
